PixCraft Privacy Policy

Learn how PixCraft handles local Minecraft skin drafts, optional AI reference images, browser storage, technical data, and your privacy choices.

Last updated: 2026-07-25

This Privacy Policy explains how PixCraft handles information when you use the Minecraft skin editor at skineditorminecraft.com. It covers manual skin editing, local autosave, PNG import and download, the optional AI from image feature, technical request data, and messages you send to us.

PixCraft is built around a privacy-first default: manual painting, regular PNG import, 3D preview, autosave, and PNG export run in your browser. You do not need an account to use the current public editor.

Privacy summary

  • Manual editing stays local. Skin pixels, ordinary PNG imports, model selection, layers, and exported PNG files are not intentionally uploaded to PixCraft.
  • Autosave stays in your browser. The editor uses IndexedDB, with localStorage only as a fallback.
  • AI processing is optional. A reference image is sent only after you select it and choose to generate a skin.
  • AI references are prepared first. The browser redraws the selected image into a new PNG and scales it down when necessary, which removes the original file metadata before transmission.
  • Basic request data may be processed for delivery and security. This can include an IP address, request time, requested path, browser or user-agent information, response status, and abuse-prevention signals.
  • Site analytics are limited to Google Analytics 4. It measures visits and interactions so we can understand aggregate usage and improve the editor.
  • The current public editor does not use advertising trackers or behavioral advertising. We do not sell skin files or personal information.

1. Scope and service operator

This Policy applies to PixCraft's public website and browser-based Minecraft skin editor. It does not govern websites, platforms, game services, or privacy practices operated by Mojang, Microsoft, hosting companies, AI providers, or other third parties.

PixCraft is the service and publisher name used by the operator of skineditorminecraft.com. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@skineditorminecraft.com.

The current public version does not offer user accounts, subscriptions, payment processing, public galleries, or cloud skin storage. If those features are enabled later, we will update this Policy before their personal-data practices apply.

2. Information handled by each feature

2.1 Manual editor, regular PNG import, and download

When you paint manually or use the regular Import PNG control, the browser reads and decodes the file on your device. The editor uses the resulting pixel data to update the 64×64 canvas and live 3D preview.

PixCraft does not intentionally transmit or store on its servers:

  • the ordinary skin PNG you import;
  • the skin pixels you paint manually;
  • base-layer or overlay-layer pixel data;
  • your Classic or Slim model choice as a server profile;
  • the filename or local file path of an ordinary import; or
  • the PNG you download from the editor.

The exported file is created in your browser and saved through your browser's normal download process. Once downloaded, the file is controlled by you and by the settings, backup tools, or sharing services on your device.

2.2 Local drafts and editor preferences

For autosave, the editor stores a structured copy of the current 64×64 draft in the browser profile you are using. The saved record contains:

  • base-layer and overlay-layer pixel values;
  • the Classic or Slim model choice;
  • the storage schema version;
  • the canvas dimensions; and
  • the last local save time.

IndexedDB is the preferred storage location. If IndexedDB is unavailable, the editor may use localStorage as a fallback. This data is not an online account, is not synchronized between devices, and is normally unavailable to PixCraft.

Selecting Clear draft attempts to remove the saved editor draft from both IndexedDB and localStorage while leaving the canvas currently open in memory. You can also clear the site's stored data using your browser settings. Private-browsing cleanup, browser storage limits, or device changes may remove a draft without notice.

2.3 Optional AI from image feature

The AI feature uses a different data flow from manual editing. When you choose a reference image, the browser first:

  1. checks the file type and size;
  2. decodes it on your device;
  3. scales it down when necessary;
  4. redraws it into a new PNG; and
  5. keeps the prepared reference in the open page so you can generate or regenerate until you replace it, reset the relevant editor state, close the tab, or reload the page.

Redrawing the image removes the original file container and embedded metadata, but it does not anonymize what is visibly shown in the picture. A face, clothing, distinctive feature, background, or other visible detail may still identify a person or place.

The prepared reference is transmitted to PixCraft's server-side generation service only when you choose Generate skin. The service validates the request and sends the information required to perform the requested conversion to a configured third-party image-processing provider. The particular infrastructure may change without changing the purpose described here.

The application receives the processing result, validates it, converts it into one final Minecraft skin, and returns that skin to your browser. PixCraft does not intentionally write the reference image or generated image to its product database or object storage. The AI provider may process or retain submitted data under its own terms, security controls, and privacy practices.

Do not submit:

  • sensitive documents or account information;
  • intimate or private images;
  • a child's image without appropriate permission and supervision;
  • a person's image without the rights or consent needed for your use; or
  • copyrighted, confidential, or otherwise protected material you are not allowed to process.

2.4 Website requests, rate limiting, and technical logs

When your browser requests a page or asset, hosting and security infrastructure may process standard technical information such as:

  • IP address or an IP-derived request identifier;
  • request date and time;
  • requested URL or path;
  • HTTP method and response status;
  • browser type, device information, and user-agent string;
  • referring page and general network headers; and
  • security, rate-limit, or abuse-detection signals.

The AI endpoint uses a network identifier for request throttling and creates a random request ID for troubleshooting. A retry authorization may temporarily associate that identifier with a cryptographic digest of the prepared image. The retry record does not contain the image itself.

The application is designed not to write request bodies, skin pixels, reference-image contents, or generated-image contents to application logs. Hosting or network providers may nevertheless maintain standard access, error, and security logs under their own configurations.

2.5 Messages you send us

If you email PixCraft, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message, attachments, and related correspondence. Please do not send a skin file, reference photo, password, identity document, or other sensitive material unless it is genuinely necessary for the support request.

3. Why information is processed

PixCraft processes the limited information described above to:

  • deliver the page, editor assets, and requested AI generation;
  • preserve a draft locally in your browser;
  • validate files and return usable Minecraft skin candidates;
  • prevent excessive, automated, fraudulent, or harmful requests;
  • understand aggregate website traffic and feature usage;
  • diagnose errors and maintain service reliability;
  • answer support, privacy, and rights-related messages; and
  • comply with applicable legal obligations or protect the service and its users.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may be based on providing the service you requested, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, your consent for an optional action where consent is required, or compliance with law. You can avoid the AI data flow entirely by using only the manual editor.

PixCraft does not use uploaded reference images or manual skin pixels for targeted advertising, automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, or a public training-data library.

4. Cookies and browser storage

PixCraft uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate website traffic and feature usage. GA4 may set first-party analytics cookies, including _ga and a property-specific _ga_... cookie, and may process page URLs, referrers, timestamps, interaction events, and browser or device information. PixCraft disables Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals in its GA4 tag and does not use this data for behavioral advertising.

The editor also uses functional browser technologies, including:

  • IndexedDB for the preferred local autosave;
  • localStorage as an autosave fallback; and
  • a locale preference cookie if you use a language-selection control.

Functional storage supports a feature you request and is not used to build an advertising profile. You can block or delete analytics cookies through your browser settings.

5. Sharing, disclosure, and service providers

PixCraft does not sell personal information, skin files, or reference images. It also does not share them for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Limited information may be disclosed to:

  • analytics providers, to measure aggregate website use;
  • AI processing providers, when you request AI generation;
  • hosting, network, and security providers, to serve the site and defend it from abuse;
  • professional advisers or authorities, when reasonably necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights; and
  • law-enforcement or regulatory bodies, when disclosure is lawfully required.

Providers receive only the information needed for their role. Their handling of information may also be governed by their own terms and privacy notices. If PixCraft is reorganized, transferred, or sold, relevant service records may transfer subject to applicable law and continued protection.

6. International processing

Hosting, network, email, and AI providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy rules and government-access standards can differ between locations. Where required, the service operator will use an appropriate legal mechanism or other safeguards for an international transfer.

If you do not want a reference image processed by an external AI provider, use the manual editor and regular PNG import instead.

7. How long information is retained

Retention depends on the type of information:

  • Local drafts remain in your browser until you clear the draft or site data, the browser removes it, or you change browser profiles or devices.
  • AI request images are handled in request memory for the time needed to validate, generate, compile, and return a response. PixCraft does not intentionally persist them in its product database or object storage.
  • AI retry authorizations expire after 10 minutes. They contain a cryptographic digest rather than a copy of the reference image.
  • Rate-limit and security records are kept only as reasonably necessary to protect the endpoint and operate the service.
  • Hosting logs follow the retention configuration of the deployment and security providers.
  • Support correspondence may be retained until the request is resolved and for a reasonable period afterward for continuity, security, or legal obligations.

Third-party AI providers may apply a different retention period. Avoid submitting a reference image if you are not comfortable with that provider processing it under its own policy.

8. Security

PixCraft uses safeguards appropriate to the current service, including local-first editing, same-origin checks on AI requests, request-size limits, file validation, rate limiting, no-store response headers, and removal of original image metadata before an AI upload.

No website, transmission, browser store, or third-party provider can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device and browser profile, keep independent copies of important skins, and do not upload sensitive images.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

You can:

  • use manual editing without selecting or uploading a reference image;
  • clear the saved local draft in the editor;
  • clear all PixCraft site data in your browser;
  • replace or remove a prepared AI reference before generating;
  • stop using the site; and
  • contact us about information held by PixCraft or its service providers.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or information about disclosures. You may also have the right to complain to a local privacy regulator. These rights can be subject to legal exceptions and identity-verification requirements.

Because a local draft is stored only in your browser, PixCraft normally cannot see, retrieve, export, or delete it for you. Use Clear draft or your browser's site-data controls. For other privacy requests, email support@skineditorminecraft.com and describe the request without including unnecessary sensitive information.

10. Children's privacy

The current editor does not require an account and does not intentionally ask users for a name, age, email address, or precise location. However, the optional AI feature can process a reference picture that contains a person.

Children who are not old enough to make their own privacy choices where they live should use PixCraft only with a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian should supervise use of the AI feature and must not submit a child's image without the permissions required by law. If you believe a child provided personal information through PixCraft inappropriately, contact us so the situation can be reviewed.

11. Third-party services and Minecraft

Links to third-party sites and the configured AI provider are outside PixCraft's control. Review their terms and privacy notices before sending information or using their services.

PixCraft is an independent tool. It is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by, sponsored by, or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft and related names and rights belong to their respective owners.

12. Policy changes and contact

We may update this Policy when the product, providers, or applicable requirements change. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and the Last updated date will identify the current version.

For privacy questions or requests:

Use of PixCraft is also governed by the PixCraft Terms of Use.
